Chamber Ambassadors Visit Brockopp Brewery

By TR Staff treditor@times-online.com

The Valley City Area Chamber Ambassadors made a stop at Brockopp Brewing to chat with owners Scott and

Nicki about the journey

into the microbrewery business. While ambassadors enjoyed samples of the wide variety of beer and frozen seltzer options on the menu, Nicki explained how this business venture has been a long time coming for her and Scott. Scott developed a passion for brewing beer years ago, and he honed his craft in his basement for 8 years before bringing his products to the market.

Ambassadors learned just how much work goes on “behind the scenes” at Brockopp Brewing and how hard the Brockopps work to bring folks tasty, unique beer. And it’s not just the product—the microbrewery on Main Street has an atmosphere that makes the beer experience even better. The building the Brockopps purchased for their business endeavor was then home to a long-time bar. After an entire gutting of the place, installing the supplies and equipment for brewing and serving, and revamping the interior from the ground up, the Brockopps opened their business in January 2020. Both Scott and Nicki continue to work day jobs before putting in their hours at the microbrewery, and though it can get crazy, they both agree that the brewery business is a dream come true.

Stop in at Brockopp Brewing, 114 E Main Street Valley City, Wednesday through Friday from 4-10 p.m. and Saturday from 4 p.m.-12 a.m. to have a truly unique small-town microbrewery experience. For Rally in the Valley, Evie Andrus and Friends will be playing some Bluegrass on the patio at Brockopp from 7-9 p.m. on Saturday, June 19th.
