A new statewide slate of officers has been elected by members of DAV (Disabled American Veterans) Department of ND at their annual convention in Mandan. The new DAV Department of ND commander is Eldred Knutson of Valley City, who replaces Robert Beauchamp of Grand Forks, immediate past commander. Other newly elected department officers are: Leslie Ross, Dickinson, Chapter #3, senior vice commander LaMar Kruckenberg, Mandan, Chapter #3, 1st junior vice commander Douglas Benjamin, Minot, Chapter #4, 2nd junior vice commander Rod Olin, Jamestown, Chapter #31, department judge advocate Thomas Thrift, Jamestown, Chapter #31, department chaplain Joe Hall, Mandan, Chapter #3, department adjutant/treasurer Commander Knutson, a member of DAV Chapter #24 in Valley City, has been a member of the DAV since 2008. He is a disabled Veteran of (War). He served and retired from the ND Army National Guard after 30 years of service. He and his spouse of 43 years, LaDeen, have 2 children and 3 grandchildren. His AGR retirement began in 2005. In retirement he and his wife enjoy some travel, camping, boating, auction sales, grandkids, and when there is time the peace and quiet of our rural farmstead.
