WEEKLY ONGOING EVENTS/REMINDERS:

*Debbie Miller SVFA Fundraiser “Wags & Whiskers” will be held Saturday, April 8th, 5-7 p.m. at the Valley City Eagles Club. The event is a free will offering all you can eat spaghetti dinner, dessert walk, silent auction, Norwegian raffle, 50/50 raffle. Please consider donating new or gently used items to our Norwegian raffle and silent auction. The more auction items we have available for this event the more successful the outcome. Funds raised will be used to rescue the homeless, lost and abandoned animals in the community and surrounding areas. *Valley City Optimist Club Roller Skating Sunday night’s from 6-8 p.m. at the Rec Center, 140 4th St SW, Valley City. No outside roller skates or roller blades allowed. *St. Catherine Quilters make quilts for those in need, meeting every Thursday from 1-4:30 p.m. and 6:30-9 p.m. in the basement gym of St. Catherine School. All are welcome, no experience necessary and supplies are provided. Questions call Christine 701-8402580 or Lela 701-8458352.

UPCOMING EVENTS: Wed., Mar. 22

• Valley City State University Health Services annual Wellness Fair will be held Wednesday, March 22 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the Student Center on campus. The event is free and open to the public and participants can expect hands on activities, wellness information, free samples, door prizes and a variety of booths from 30 different campus, local and state entities.

• Barnes County Senior Center meal and activities information: Chicken cordon bleu, baby bakers, coleslaw, peaches. 9:30 a.m. Bone Builders Exercise.

Thurs., Mar. 23

• The Valley City Chamber joins Wellness 4 Life Chiropractic, with Dr. Laura Lassiter, for a Business After Hours event on Thursday, March 23 from 5-7 p.m. All are welcome to attend. • Valley City Fire Department Fundraiser will be held Sat., March 25. Games, raffle, pinochle tournament, chili and sausage served from 6 p.m. until gone. Tickets available at the door or from any VCFD firefighter.

• March 25, 9-11 a.m., the District 24 DemocraticNPL is hosting a Legislative Forum at 200 Central Ave N. in Valley City. DemNPL Representatives Josh Boschee (House minority leader) and Karla Rose Hanson will both be present to share their perspectives on the work of the current Legislative session.

• District 24 Legislative will hold a Meet and Greet in Valley City in the High School Cafeteria from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, April 1st.

• District 24 Republican Chairman Dan Johnston has called for a re-organizational meeting. Event will be held Saturday, April 1, 2023, 2:30 p.m., at the Dacotah Pavilion in Chautauqua Park, Valley City. Business to be conducted will include the election of officers and executive committee members.

• Dist 24 Republicans will host a St. Patrick’s Day Dinner on Saturday, April 1, 5 p.m., in the Datocah Pavilion at Chautauqua Park in Valley City. All are invited to join for an authentic Irish meal of corned beef and cabbage. Tickets are available by emailing district24gop@ yahoo.com. Event was rescheduled due to weather complications.

• Dakota Poker Season 2022-23 Eagle Eye Poker Open at the Valley City Eagles Sun., Apr. 2. Tourney start at noon for the one day event. For more information call 701-8452192.

• VCSU Men’s Basketball will host a 3-on-3 Tournament on Sunday, April 2, 2023. The tournament features divisions for boys and girls in grades 3-12. Teams are guaranteed three games. All games will be officiated by VCSU staff and players, and a certified athletic trainer will be available.
