WEEKLY ONGOING EVENTS/REMINDERS: Valley City Area Chamber of Commerce Chili Cook-off & Community Olympics evening will not be held. After numerous attempts to inquire about participation in these two events, there was not enough teams interested in participating. VC Chamber staff would like to thank you all who have brought teams to these events through the years.

*Valley City Optimist Club Roller Skating every Sunday, with exception of holidays, from 6-8 p.m. For more information call Rick Ross at 701-490-0828.

*Valley City Public Works Transfer Station will be closed on Saturday’s until further notice.

*Rock ‘n Bowl Friday Nights at the VC Bowling Alley for family and small kids from 6-8 p.m. and then all ages from 9 p.m.12 a.m.

*Barnes County Museum, is open and welcoming visitors from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday, closed on Sundays. The museum is located at 315 Central Ave N, Valley City. Call Wes at 701-845-0966 for tour and additional information.

*Abused Persons Outreach Center (APOC) will have a temporary change in office hours. The office will now be open from 9AM-3PM, located at 160 2nd St NW, Valley City. 24 Hour Crisis hotline 701845-0072.

*The Drivers License Division is currently traveling to Valley City the first and third Wednesday of each month. Services are available by appointment only by going online to dot. nd.gov or calling 1-855633-6835.

*AA Fellowship Corner Meeting Schedule: Monday 8 p.m., Tuesday

6 p.m., Wednesday noon, Friday noon, Saturday 8 p.m. NA meets on Wednesday’s at 7 p.m. at Fellowship Corner. For more information call 701845-3705. The meetings are held at 320 2nd Ave SE in Valley City.

• The Valley City Barnes County Public Library will be closed on January 17th in observance of Martin Lutheran King Day.

• Barnes County Courthouse will be closed Monday, January 17, 2022 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The Barnes County Sheriff’s Office and Jail will remain staffed.

• BC Senior Center Meal and Activites: Chicken fritters, potato wedges, mixed vegetables, Jello. 1:15 p.m. whist.

• 1st annual Charlie Brown Hill 500 Cardboard sled race will be held January 17th at 11 a.m. on Charlie Brown Hill. Sledding races, music prizes. Check out more details at https:// www.vcparks.com/january-events.

• No school for Valley City Public or St. Catherine’s on Monday, January 17th in observance of Martin Luther King Jr day. School will resume normal time on Tuesay, January 18th.

• VC Eagles Aerie meeting and initiation will be held January 20th, 7:30 p.m. at the club.

• The Monroe Doctrine Bluegrass Band, house bluegrass band at the Vault Coffee Shop and Arts Center in Valley City, will be performing there on Thursday, January 20 at 7 p.m. Free-will donations are appreciated.
