Country Focus: School is out for the summer

School’s out for summer! The last day of school for Maple Valley was last Friday, May 19. I think we were all ready for summer vacation.

Like every school year, lots of good times with some not so good times sprinkled in. The elementary classes held an awards ceremony on the last day where state reading certificates are handed out, the pre-K students graduate to kindergarten and the Raider Award is announced for grades 3-6.

Proud mom moment when my daughter was selected from her fourth-grade class! The Raider Award is based on overall grades and attitude in the classroom. My heart swelled with pride!
